Our cute felt alien craft is easy to make with our free alien template and small bits of felt. These plushies look like the Toy Story aliens from the movie!

How to Sew a Felt Alien Plushie

Supplies

  • Free Alien Plushie Template
  • Craft Felt (green, white and black)
  • Embroidery Floss (to match the felt colors)
  • Stuffing (fiber fill)
  • Hand Sewing Needle

Directions

Step 1

Download, print and cut out the alien template pattern.

Trace the printed templates onto the felt colors and then cut out.

Step 2

Place two black eyes and the mouth on one of the large green ovals.

Attach the felt pieces to the main piece by stitching around them with a whipstitch.

Step 3

Use a backstitch to create the smile extending from each side of the mouth.

Step 4

Pinch one triangle in by ⅓ and place it behind one side of the head to form an ear.

You may want to use a straight pin to hold it in place.

Stitch the base of the ear with a single cross stitch.

Repeat for the other ear.

Step 5

Place the antennae behind the face at the top.

Stack the face and back of the head on top of each other.

Sew around the perimeter using a whipstitch, leaving a small opening for stuffing.

Step 6

Stuff the alien head with fiber fill or another type of stuffing. Then continue to whipstitch to close.
